THAT'S AMURICA.
Skip to 37:40 for Pobst's opinion on the Z/28.
Tried to set it to start at the right time and tried to clip the video and google keeps redirecting to the wrong time.

When i read the comments on this video i laughed a lot but someone made a very important point. If you removed the Chevy badge on the Z/28 and put a BMW badge on and told people that this was a stripped out, track focused BMW, much like the GT3 is to 911's and it can out lap a GTR including the track series, and is stupidly fast, how many accolades do you think BMW will win? They won't have space in their building to put all the trophies and even if the price was $100k, they would still call it the bargain of the century but simply because it's a Chevy, people wanna look down on the car and not appreciate it for what it is, that's really really sad.

I do not look down on the Chevy or take away from what it is capable of, however I have noticed that Motor Trend seems to favor GM products in these tests or reviews, which makes me doubt their ability to provide an unbiased test/review/evaluation of any group of cars that includes a GM product. A few years back I saw a similar review in which the Camaro lost every test or competition they put in in, but they still chose it as the best car out of the group they were testing.

What your seeing is not a GM bias. It's a Motor Trend thing. A lot of the big car mags are like that. I forget who pointed it out but you may notice they'll try to act like they're nitpicking or coming up with excuses for little things they don't like about certain cars but years down the line when there's a new model out they'll say things like Old model was such a dog and it's just amazing how much the new model is improved. Watch a lot of people reviewing the new WRX/STI to see examples of this. The only person I see not pandering to Subaru in review of the new one and trashing the old one is Matt Farah in his review of it.

You know what, I think you are correct. Thanks for that explanation.
I like watching Matt, because he usually tells it just like it is, thanks for the video.

Yeah, I always knew people would kiss butt to advertisers but I never noticed the trend of never saying anything truly negative about a model until it was replaced and they could go on about how much better the new one is until someone pointed it out to me.

Me neither, but since you so kindly pointed it out, I bet I notice it everywhere now. ;)

Yeah, I noticed Motortrend doing it in their STI part of this video and the way they've reviewed the Z/28 they're trashing the base model which I always thought they liked aside from the styling.
